Professor Dr.-Ing. Raimund Klinkner (* 1965) founded the INSTITUTE FOR MANUFACTURING EXCELLENCE GmbH in 2012. He is Managing Partner of the Institute and holds various board memberships in industry and science. Examples of this are his Presidency of BVL International the Global Supply Chain Network, his position as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of DMG MORI AG, and his activities as honorary professor for production logistics at the Technical University in Berlin.

After Raimund Klinkner completed his mechanical engineering studies at the Technical University in Munich he worked since 1991 in leading management positions for the renowned sports car manufacturer Porsche AG, Stuttgart, in supply chain management, procurement and factory control. He earned his doctorate in 1994 in a parallel university program on a thesis in the field of manufacturing strategies integrating quality in automotive industry. Raimund Klinkner joined the renowned machine tool manufacturer GILDEMEISTER AG (now DMG MORI AG), Bielefeld, in 1998 as Executive Director responsible for Production, Procurement and IT. He was appointed deputy CEO for GILDEMEISTER AG in 2003. Between 2007 and 2011, Raimund Klinkner worked as CEO for the world’s leading manufacturer of braking systems for rail and commercial vehicles, Knorr-Bremse AG, Munich.
